Sør-Trøndelag University College was established in 1994 in Trondheim. With 7 000 students it is the third largest university college in Norway, and one of the two dominant academic institutions in Trondheim. The college offers a wide range of bachelor's and master's programmes as well as continuing education programmes and other courses. The University College has seven faculties, located at five different campuses in Trondheim. The Faculty of Technology offers undergraduate studies in General Science; Civil Engineering (Bachelor); Electrical and Computer Engineering (Bachelor); Chemical Engineering (Bachelor); Materials Technology Engineering (Bachelor); Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor); Logistic Engineering (Bachelor). About 2000 students and 180 staff are part of the faculty.
Job title: Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer: Building Technology. The department offers civil engineering studies within Construction Engineering, Building Engineering, Structural Design and Planning and infrastructural engineering. The study programmes are very popular and are thus benefitting from large numbers of applicants.
The work includes teaching and project supervising, network building, research and development work, and assignment work. The appointee must have good command of either English or Norwegian/Scandinavian language, both spoken and written.
Bachelor of Civil Engineering programme is a three year study. The first two years are common to all students at the program. In the third year there are four specialisation streams: Construction Engineering Building Engineering Structural Design Planning and infrastructural engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering has laboratories with a wide range of equipment and instruments and a large number of PCs and workstations which are used as an integrated part of many courses. The department of civil engineering has a staff of 13.
The department's annual admission is approximately 80 students for the three year engineering programme. Successful completion of the three year course makes possible, subject to acceptance, entry into the 2 year Master of Engineering programme at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
The position requires a minimum of Masters degree or equivalent in civil engineering, preferably specialising in building technology. Relevant work experience from industry and/or research is an advantage.
Good command of either English or Norwegian/Scandinavian language, both spoken and written is needed.
