Haukeliseter Lodge is located in the middle of the Norwegian mountains, 1000 meters above sea level, by the year-round open road E134 in Telemark. The surrounding nature is magnificent and the area is well suited for outdoor activity all year-round. There are good hiking, skiing and fishing opportunities. The lodge is owned by the Stavanger Tourist Association (STF) and is the largest mountain lodge in the direction of the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNT).
The facility is seasonal and the season peaks between February-April and July-Sept.
The staff at Haukeliseter is young. We are a wonderful bunch of 15 to 40 people who work and live together at the lodge. If you do not wish to stay in the staff collective it is possible to commute 20-30 minutes from Haukeli / Røldal. If you want to save money, Haukeliseter is the place to be. Room and board charges are very low, see further down.

Job Title: Chef with passion for food
Tasks include daily kitchen assignments such as cooking and cleaning as well as sharing responsibility for the kitchen as a whole. Our crowned kitchen is looking for a committed chef with passion that is willing to take part in further increasing the already high standards of the food at Haukeliseter. We offer 3-course dinners, good quality bistro, arrange conferences, private parties and weddings.
We’re looking for an educated chef with at least a few years of experience. But we’d like to point out that extra commitment, curiosity and interest can compensate for less education or experience. It’s important that you can work efficient under pressure and also be a part of the creative process. You need to be willing to work hard, meet new people and cooperate. If you’re interested in outdoor activity you will definitely enjoy your spare time at Haukeliseter. It’s also important that you get on well with your colleagues, that you will work very close to. If we’ll find you competent enough there’s a good chance to take on the sous-chef job.

Work: Full time, weekdays and weekends, days and evenings..
May and June 2011, we’d at least like you to stay for the summer.
Salary: Depending on experience.
Living cost: Room/board 2.000,- per month.
