The Faculty of Bioscience and Aquaculture, University of Nordland in Bodø, Norway, www.uin.no/english_fba opens for applications for a three-year PhD position in marine zooplankton ecology. The position is part of the ConocoPhillips sponsored ARCTOS project: Impact of the variability in the Norwegian and Barents Sea Calanus complex on ecosystems and commercial fish stocks. The project is a collaboration between ARCTOS (www.arctosresearch.net), the Norwegian Polar Institute (www.npolar.no), Akvaplan-niva (www.akvaplan.niva.no/en), Marine Research Institute, Iceland (www.hafro.is) and the University of Nordland (www.uin.no).

The successful candidate must have a MSc degree, or equivalent, in ecology, marine biology or related fields. The candidate should demonstrate competence in statistical analysis or modelling of ecological data sets.

Good communication skills in English, both oral and written are required.

Personal skills

The position requires a highly motivated, performance driven person with good capabilities of working independently as well as in teams.
