Karmøy Kystkultursenter is a unique cultural centre promoting the martime traditions of the region whilst attempting to preserve the local building traditions. Since the 1950s we have restored old Norwegian buildings and boats on our property, so to create a environment refelcting our heritage.
To accomodate our visitors, we have several conference venues, provide wedding services and have rooms for rent. We also have a maritime pub with modern kitchen facilities
We are looking for a cook or chef with a passion for cooking with products from the ocean.In keeping with our theme, we often serve shellfish, shrimps, mussels, fish and baccaloa to our guests-.
Tasks and area of responsibilities include:
Catering lunches and dinners for conferences and larger events.
Catering for guests staying on our property
Quality control of purchasing and preperation of meals
Ensuring proper the hygiene standards are met at all time.
Helping out during various events and conferences in making our guest¿s stay more pleasant.
A good knowledge and experience of cooking is required.
A degree is preferred, but just experience will be taken into consideration.
We are looking for a candidate that speaks fluent English, has a passion for cooking, is flexible and has good references.
Working hours and place of work Hours: 7,5 hours per day (with possibility of working flexi hours, in accordance to the Norwegian Law)
Place of employment: Mannesveien 210, Norway.
Start Date: As soon as possible with possibility of a permanent position.
End date: 10.01.2015
Please note there will be a 6 month probation period.
Salary Starting salary will be 160 kr/ per hour but will depend on experience and skills.
