Solund Verft builds new ships and undertakes maintenance and refits of ships and equipment. The company has delivered three new ships during the past year; one of which is the first battery-electric car ferry in Europe. The other two are advanced coastal fishing boats. In the last decade the shipyard has invested more than 5,5 million EURO in facilities and equipment
Solund Verft is 3 kilometres from the town of Hardbakke in the island municipality of Solund, located in the mouth of Sogn fjord. There are connections two times daily by express boat to Bergen. There are also ferry connections to the mainland. The municipality has a rich cultural life with several clubs and organisations. Some of the possibilities for leisure activity are sailing, paddling, diving, mountain walks, sports, and choirs.

Job description: Project operation, design and co-ordination. Project management. Plan and coordinate activities as well as resources. Technical support for purchasing. Co-ordination of processes for ship owner including classification and authority liaison.
Work duties in other industry, land based businesses and the aquaculture sector.
At least four or more years of relevant shipbuilding/ship repair experience. Relevant degree in ship building.
Proficient skills in repair and reconstruction of ships.
Leadership experience. Flexible and able to work independently. Lead and motivate people to deliver good results. Take the responsibility that is required to get the work carried out; this sometimes requires longer working days. Teamwork spirit and good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent skills in various software applications including CAD, Microsoft, Excel, Word, Power point.
Excellent command of English, written and spoken. Willingness to learn Norwegian. References are required.
