Associate professor/ assistant professor in electronic automation/ cybernetics

 

 

Would you like to teach the engineers of the future?

 

There is a vacancy at the Faculty of Technology, Art and Design, Department of Industrial Development for a position as associate professor/ assistant professor in electronic automation/cybernetics. Our electrical engineering programme provides two specializations: automation/cybernetics and medical technology. The faculty has close contact with the industry and the public sector in the region, and engages in research and development activities and other contract work.

Duties:

-Teaching and supervision in automation/cybernetics

-Contributing to developing and strengthening the department's research in the field of automation/simulation

-Contributing to developing the department's courses

-Running and coordinating tasks at the department's programmes of study

-Raising the profile of the programme area and faculty

-Interacting and collaborating with the industry and the public sector.

 

Qualifications

-PhD/ Master's degree relevant to the subject areas automation/cybernetics

-Ability to attend to human and social aspects of the work

-Experience of research and development work in the subject area

-Engineering experience from industry, offshore activities and/or the public sector

-Experience from carrying out large and small automation projects.

-Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for the Norwegian automation industry (Machinery Directive, NORSOK).

-General criteria for appointments to positions as associate professor or lecturer are found in the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts, see the Regulations

-Importance is attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant practical teaching expertise, you must agree to complete the university college's programme in basic teaching competence (15 ECT credits) within two years.

-Ability to communicate in a Scandinavian language or English. If you do not possess adequate skill in a Scandinavian language, you must agree to acquire this within two years.

 

The university college tests teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

Salary

 

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees: 1011 associate professor pay grade 57-70 (NOK 482.500 - 613.200), 1198 associate professor pay grade 57-70 (NOK 482.500 - 613.200), 1008 assistant professor pay grade 47-64 (NOK 409.400 - 549.100). A higher salary can be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
