Simula Research Laboratory is a publicly-owned research institute located at Fornebu. Simula¿s mission is to explore fundamental challenges in computational science, network technologies and software engineering. The strong focus on research is combined with focus on graduate-level education and development of commercial applications.
We are looking for an independently motivated and service-minded individual with a positive and flexible attitude for a position as an advisor at Simula Research Laboratory.
The successful candidate will become a key resource for the management, primarily focussing on the organisation of graduate and post-graduate education in the Simula School of Research and Innovation. The duties and assignments will be varied, and will include, but may not be limited to:
-Development and coordination of support processes for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, and being contact person between Simula and collaborating universities in Norway and abroad.
-General support to the management, such as documentation related to meetings, preparation of key figures and supporting materials, and other tasks related to the management's activities.
-Participation in the development and operation of existing and new administrative and educational projects.
The ideal person for this position is creative and focused on novel solutions, but has the discipline required for systematic and detailed-oriented work. You most likely have a Master¿s degree, although this can be compensated by relevant work experience at a senior level. Such experience could typically be from administration of higher education or business operations. At Simula, you will participate in high-energy projects demanding strong team-player skills, but you must also be able to work independently within established policies and procedures when that is required. You are well-organized, communicate excellently in both Norwegian and English, and have an analytical mind.
-A full-time temporary position of 1 year, lasting until 31 July 2016. Possibilities for a permanent position after the first year exist.
