The Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Behavioural Sciences has two vacant research fellow positions under the PhD programme in behaviour analysis. The research fellowship period is three or four years, without or with a 25% teaching obligation.
The PhD programme in behaviour analysis qualifies candidates for research at a high level and for positions in the university and university college sector. The programme also qualifies candidates to conduct applied and clinical work. Behaviour analysis as a research discipline is characterised by linking of conceptual, experimental and applied research. Members of the academic staff affiliated to the programme possess, and continue to develop, teaching and research collaborations with recognised academic environments and educational institutions in Norway and abroad.
Research Fellows Positions
Position 1: Transfer of Function (Project 1)
The more general questions asked in this research project are related to differences between functional and equivalence classes. Furthermore, on the importance of transfer or transformation of functions. Stimulus equivalence classes, functional stimulus classes, functional equivalence classes, and contingency classes have frequently been used in the literature. While many experiments have studied the formation of classes based on reflexivity, symmetry, and transitivity, far fewer experiments have studied the formation of functional equivalence classes based on partitioning.
Position 2: Attending Behaviour (Project 2)
Eye-tracking data has been used as additional data in research on stimulus control and conditional discrimination procedures. Furthermore, studies have explored the differential outcomes in eye-movement topographies, using head-mounted eye-tracking equipment. The purpose of this project is to increase the knowledge of complex human behavioral repertoires in studying attending behavior. To do this, we employ matching-to-sample procedures set up to generate responding referred to as stimulus equivalence. This type of research is to be considered as basic research meant only to increase the scientific understanding of human behavior. However, we also believe that the current has the potential to make a great impact in several applied fields.
- Master degree (120 ECTS) or corresponding qualification:
- Bachelor degree grade of C or higher
- Master degree grade of B or higher on the course content
- Master thesis grade of B or higher
- Education taken abroad must be recognized in advance and a confirmed copy of the letter of recognition must be enclosed
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Documented behaviour analysis qualifications corresponding to Master's degree/second degree level
- Recognized publications will be an advantage

The salary for the PhD Research Fellow, position code 1017, is pay grade 50–54 on the pay scale for state employees, currently NOK 429,700–458,800.
