The University of Stavanger (UiS) currently enrolls 8.300 students and employs 1200 academic and administrative staff. It offers a range of study and research programs and engages in dissemination of knowledge. The academic activity is organized into three faculties and the University Museum of Archeology. The University of Stavanger will be introducing virtualization and Microsoft technology as a basis for file print and e-mail services. We are planning a new section to implement the latest technologies from VMWARE and Microsoft.
The IT Department, Section of IT Infrastructure, has vacancy for a system administrator within Microsoft technology and infrastructure. The appointee will assume a key role in adopting and transferring to Windows server 2008 and Microsoft Unified Communications.
The main areas of responsibility for the position are:
• design and development of IT-architecture related to Microsoft technology
• design, maintenance and development of Exchange/Unified Communications
maintenance and development of Microsoft services.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
• relevant university/college education
• a minimum of five years' experience from work with Microsoft solutions.
• experience from maintenance of Exchange 2003/2007
• relevant certifications (MCTS, MCSE, MVITP)
generally high competence in Microsoft technology
Additional competence within one or more of the following areas is desirable:
• operation Manager
• VMware ESX
• good abilities in Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language*) and English written and oral communication
• commitment, initiative, and sense of responsibility
• ability to achieve results
• ability to solve problems constructively and creatively

Salary: NOK 462.800 - 509.800 P.a. depending on qualifications
