The labour market in October 2011

The unemployment in October 2011 was 6,8% or in average10.918 unemployed which is 159 more than September 2011 with 6,6%.

Unemployment by gender:
Unemployment by men was 6,5% i October 2011 but 6,4% in September 2011 and down from 7,8% in October 2010.  Unemployment by women was 7,2% in October 2011 which is up from 6,8% in September 2011 and unchanged from 7,2% in October 2010.

Unemployment by age:
There were 1.884 young persons (16-24 years) unemployed in October 2011 or up  from 1.774 in September 2011 and down from  2.168 in October 2010.

Unemployment by length:
There were 4.491 unemployed over 1 year in October 2011 which is up from 4.457 in September 2011.

Open vacancies:
There were 221 open vacancies in October 2011 similar to open vacancies in September 2011 with 222 open vacancies.

Granted work permits:
There were 32 new work permits issued in October 2011 or down from 40 in September 2011.

The unemployment forecast for November 2011:
It is predicted that the unemployment in November 2011 will increase and be between 6,9%-7,2%.
