The labour market in April 2009
Unemployment by gender
There were 9.601 men unemployed in April 2009 or 10,4% and 7,4% or 5.213 women. Unemployment increased by 1,5% for men and 2,5% for women.
Unemployment by age
There were 3.588 unemployed young 16-24 years in April 2009 or about 21% of all young unemployed. In March 2009 there were 3.631 young without job.
Long term unemployed
There were 3.269 without job over 6 months in April 2009 or about 20% of all unemployed but 1.749 in March 2009.
Open vacancies
The number of open vacancies were 687 in April 2009 increased by by 67 from March 2009.
Granted work permits and registration of citizens from the new member states
There were 18 new work permits permitted in April 2009, but 10 in March 2009. The number of new registrations (from the new EU 8 countries) were 7 in April compared to 15 in March 2009.
The unemployment forecast for May 2009
It is predicted that the unemployment will not change radically in May 2009 and be between 8,8%-9,3%.

The unemployment in November 2011 was 7,1% or in average 11.348, which is 430 more than in October 2011 with 6,8%, but down from 7,7% in November 2010.
