The labour market in September 2009

The unemployment in September 2009 was 7,2% or down from 7,7% in August 2009. There were 12.145 unemployed in September 2009 or down with 1.242 from August 2009.

Unemployment by gender
There were 7.230 men without job in September 2009 or down with 513 from August 2009. The unemployment by men was 7,6% in September 2009. The unemployment by women was 4.915 or 6,7%, down with 729 from 7,5% in August 2009.

Unemployment by age
There were 2.435, 16-24 years without a job in September 2009 or down from 2.643 in August 2009.

Long-term unemployed
There were 7.397 without a job for a period over 6 months in September 2009 or down from 7.457 in August 2009.

Open vacancies
The number of open vacancies was 442 in September 2009, down from 495 in August 2009.

Granted work permits
There were issued 20 new work permits in September 2009, up from 7 in August 2009.

The unemployment forecast for October 2009
In October the employment situation starts usually to weaken. It is predicted that the unemployment will increase. The unemployment is predicted to be between 7,3% and 7,8%.
