Know before you go

Before leaving Iceland you should consider following things:

  • Notify your move to the National Register (jóðskrá)
  • Notify change of address (your bank, the post office, telephone company etc.)
  • Get E-104 from Social Insurance (Tryggingastofnun) (EEA citizens)
  • Fill out your tax-report at the Internal Revenue Directorate (RSK)
  • Get E-301-from from The Directorate of Labour (Vinnumálastofnun). E-301 is a form which documents the length of employment (insurance) accumulated in Iceland
  • If you unemployed you can transfer your right to unemployment benefit to other EU/EEA countries by applying for E-303
